MLM, multi-level marketing, network marketing.. call it what you want but I know there’s tons of negativity surrounding the terms. A lot of people don’t understand it and think it’s illegal or a scheme or have had one or two people ruin it for them by being pushy and down right rude (I’ve had that happen as well). It really gives the industry a bad name.
I want to clear up something first, an MLM is NOT a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme is when you receive/pay money for recruitment where there is no product exchanged.
This video has a great explanation and it’s kind of funny.
Doterra is not your typical MLM and I’m not your typical MLM gal. Doterra chose the MLM business model because they wanted to promote education about the oils. They knew if they put them on a shelf in a store, no one would know how to use them properly. So that's what I do, I educate people so they know how to safely use essential oils and I provide them with the tools they need to use them effectively in their daily lives. I am never salesy and never pushy, but I do make sure that you have the tools and knowledge that you need to empower yourself to take charge of your health and wellness. I just ask that if you are more of DIY'er and want to figure it out on your own, please just let me know! I always respect your preference :)
Doterra has no mandatory monthly orders, unless you chose to create one, and over 85% of people just enroll to get the discount. If you decide it's not for you, no big. No automatic charges each year either. If you decide to renew your membership after a year for $25, you'll get a free bottle of peppermint, and it is added to the next order you place after your renewal date.
If you are curious about doterra and essential oils, please reach out! We can schedule a 30 minute call and see what options might work for you.
Benefits of enrolling with doterra as a Wellness Customer:
As a part of my team you'll receive:
Right after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it's 9pm and my 2 year old wakes up, cries and the dreaded stomach bug begins. She threw up everything she ate for about 24 hours. IT. IS. THE. WORST. I immediately grabbed my oils to help soothe her poor little tummy, and it got me thinking of how different things are now with oils. Prior to, I would have just held her tight and prayed that it would be over soon. With oils, I was able to grab the fennel and coriander, diluted with fractionated coconut oil, and massaged it on her little belly. I put some peppermint on her pj's to help the nausea and I grabbed some immune boosting and germ killing oils to help her body fight the bug. This time we used the Stronger blend from the kids collection, and Oregano touch (pre-diluted). I massaged that down her spine. I also alternated with digestzen, our amazing digestion blend. She went from crying and upset to asleep in a matter of minutes. I kept up this protocol for the next few days along with a bland diet while her stomach recovered, adding in probiotics when I could. Just knowing that I could comfort her with natural, safe, products made me so very grateful for these oils. When there's literally nothing else you can do, at least these can provide some comfort and calm, while helping her body recover.
I also applied the oils on my stomach throughout the day, and kept everything sprayed down with my DIY disinfectant spray. I only got a touch of what she had, not anywhere near as bad. I was consistent with the oils and took probiotics a few times a day. One key to using the oils, is consistency is paramount. Just like you can't go to the gym once and be fit, you can't use the oils once and expect them to work. Less oil, more often is the rule of thumb.
Please reach out if you are considering trying oils, they truly are lifesavers when used properly. I provide education and support to ensure you are using them correctly. No pressure, I just want everyone to have these tools in their toolbox. It provides this mama so much relief from the stress of having sick babies.
I love using my essential oils for practical uses around the house! Whenever I buy fruit or veggies, I always clean them really good so we aren't getting any gross bacteria or who knows what from the transport trucks and in the grocery stores. Plus sometimes the produce is covered in wax to help preserve it.. um yuck! I try to purchase organic, but it's not always feasible. So I follow the 80/20 rule and I take the dirty 20 list with me when I go grocery shopping. This is always my cleaning process if I do organic or not!
Here's what I use:
1 Large bowl water to cover produce
1/4 cup vinegar
4-8 drops of lemon essential oil or any citrus oil (wild orange, grapefruit, tangerine)
Swirl around and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Then rinse and store in a container with a paper towel to soak up any moisture.
Not only does this clean the produce, but it also makes it last MUCH longer! #winwin
